Automotive Lockout
Locked out of your vehicle anywhere in the Columbus area. We come to the car and open it without damage. Call rather than filling in a form.

If you are standing next to your vehicle right now, call (614) 401-4006. A phone call gets a van moving. A form does not.
We open vehicles across Columbus and the surrounding area, at any hour. Keys on the seat, keys in the trunk, doors locked with the engine running, a fob that has stopped responding. The vehicle gets opened where it sits.
Opened without damage
We use the right automotive lockout tools and safe entry methods to unlock your vehicle without damaging the door, lock, glass, paint or weather seal.
This is where calling a locksmith saves money rather than costing it. Using the proper tools helps prevent a simple lockout from turning into a damaged door frame, a torn weather seal, scratched paint or a wiring problem. Coat hangers, screwdrivers and over-wedging are what cause those, and the repair costs more than the lockout would have.
If an unusual situation involves already damaged or failed hardware and needs a different approach, we explain that before proceeding rather than after.
What we open
- Cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, work vehicles and RVs
- Trunks, including where there is no interior release
- Vehicles running with the doors locked
- Vehicles where the key fob has stopped working
If your keys are not locked in the vehicle but lost entirely, that is a different job. See car key replacement.
If a child or a pet is locked inside
If a child is locked in a vehicle, call 911 first. Emergency services can be there faster than anyone else and they will not hesitate. Call us as well, and if we are close by we will come, but the 911 call goes first. Do not wait on a locksmith for a child in a vehicle.
For a pet, use your judgement about how urgent it is. A dog in a vehicle with the air conditioning running or a window cracked in mild weather has some time. A pet in a closed vehicle in summer heat does not, and that is a 911 call rather than a locksmith call. Tell us the situation when you ring and we will be straight with you about whether we can get there in time or whether you should not be waiting for us.
What to tell us when you call
- Where the vehicle is
- Year, make and model
- Whether anyone or any animal is inside
- Whether the keys are inside the vehicle or lost entirely
We may ask you to show that the vehicle is yours before opening it. Registration, insurance or a matching ID is normally enough. Any locksmith who does not ask is one to be wary of.
Common questions
Will you damage my vehicle getting in?
We use professional automotive lockout tools and safe entry methods to open the vehicle without damaging the door, lock, glass, paint or weather seal. If an unusual situation involves damaged hardware or requires a different approach, we explain that before proceeding.
How long will you be?
Automotive lockouts are treated as urgent service calls, and we make every effort to get a locksmith to you as quickly as our current location and schedule allow. Call us with your location and we will give you a realistic arrival estimate.
Can you open the trunk if it has no release inside?
Usually yes. Tell us the year, make and model when you call, because trunk access varies a lot between vehicles.
My keys are locked in and the engine is running. Can you help?
Yes, and it is more common than people think. Say so when you call so we know it is worth prioritizing.
Do you open RVs?
Yes. Tell us the make and what kind of entry door and ignition it has when you call.
Do you need proof the vehicle is mine?
Yes, in most cases. Registration, insurance or an ID matching the vehicle is normally enough. It protects you as much as us.
