Commercial Lockout
Locked out of a business, office, storefront or interior room anywhere in the Columbus area. Tell us the door type when you call.
If you are locked out of your business right now, call (614) 401-4006. Every hour a storefront stays shut costs more than the lockout does.
We open offices, storefronts, warehouses, restaurants and interior rooms across Columbus and the surrounding area, at any hour. A lot of commercial lockouts happen early in the morning when the person with the keys has not turned up, or late at night when a closing manager pulls a door shut behind them.
Tell us what the door is
This matters more on commercial work than residential. A glass storefront door with narrow stile hardware, a hollow metal fire door with a mortise lock, and a desk drawer are three different jobs needing three different approaches.
Thirty seconds describing the door on the phone means we arrive with what the job needs rather than finding out on site.
What we open
- Storefront and glass entry doors.
- Office and suite doors in multi-tenant buildings.
- Hollow metal and fire-rated doors.
- Warehouse and back-of-house doors.
- Interior offices and storage rooms.
- File cabinets, desks and cash drawers.
- Padlocks and gate locks.
We open locks rather than reaching for a drill wherever the hardware allows it. On commercial doors that matters more than at a house, because replacing narrow stile or mortise hardware is not a trip to a hardware store.
Authorization
We check that you have the right to open the door before we open it. For a business that usually means an employee ID, a business card matching the premises, a lease, or a call to the owner or property manager.
If you are a manager or a keyholder rather than the owner, say so on the phone and we will work out what will do. It is a short step and it is exactly what you would want a locksmith to do if someone else turned up at your door claiming to work there.
While we are there
If the lockout happened because keys went missing rather than got left inside, rekeying is worth doing on the same visit. A set of keys to a business that you cannot account for is a bigger problem than a set of house keys.
If the door has been getting harder to open for a while, that is worth a look too. Commercial hardware gets used hundreds of times a day and it gives warning before it fails.
Common questions
How fast can you get here?
Commercial lockouts are treated as urgent, and we get someone to you as quickly as our current location and schedule allow. Call with the address and the door type and we will give you a realistic estimate.
Will you damage the door?
We open locks rather than drilling them wherever the hardware allows it. On commercial doors that matters, because storefront and mortise hardware is expensive to replace. If a door has already failed hardware and needs a different approach, we explain that first.
I am the manager, not the owner. Can you still let me in?
Usually yes. Employee ID, a lease, or a quick call to the owner or property manager is normally enough. Mention your situation when you call.
Can you open a file cabinet or desk?
Yes. These are common calls, especially when someone has left the company and taken the only key with them.
Can you come outside business hours?
Yes, 24 hours. Plenty of commercial work is better done before opening or after closing anyway.
